Ambassador and Director General of the International Cooperation Department at Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affaires, Mohamed A. A. Elkarib, said on Saturday that Sudan is ready to work closely with Iran during its 3-year NAM presidency.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) Ambassador and Director General of the International Cooperation Department at Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affaires, Mohamed A. A. Elkarib, said on Saturday that Sudan is ready to work closely with Iran during its 3-year NAM presidency. 
 
Elkarib, speaking at Imam Khomeini International Airport before flying back home, he said, “We all know that Iran has had a very active and positive diplomacy in international and regional fora. So this makes us feel confident that Iran's presidency of NAM will be successful. I really look forward to new and active moves in the next three years.”

He said Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir during his stay in Tehran held meetings with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the most important of which tool place yesterday morning. They discussed, he added, issues of muutal interest and those relating to strengthening the new chairmanship of Iran over NAM in the next three years.

He said the Sudanese foreign minister too held meetings with the Iranian President and foreign minister in Tehran where they discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing the role of NAM.

He said that he was thankful of the Iranian government for its excellent hosting of the 16th NAM Summit.
